Ron Ely Tarzan DVD Will Never Be Released Following Actor's Arrest

Tarzan actor Ron Ely was arrested on Thursday after allegedly shooting and killing his wife, Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials said. He was 81 years old. Ely is best known for his role as the title character in the 1966-1968 television series Tarzan. His wife, Valerie Lundeen Ely, 62, was found dead in their Hope Ranch, California, home with multiple gunshot wounds.
Ely was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of murder. He is being held on $1 million bail. A news release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said that deputies responded to a 911 call from Ely's home at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday. When deputies arrived, they found Lundeen Ely dead inside the home. Ely was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

Ely's arrest comes as a shock to many of his fans, who remember him as the iconic Tarzan.
