After Nine Years of Marriage
Comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont have announced their divorce after nine years of marriage. The couple released a joint statement on Monday, April 12, confirming their separation.
"It is with sadness that we have decided to part ways," the statement read. "We have been through a lot together and we love and respect each other as friends."
Richardson and Beaumont met in 2003 while performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They married in 2013 and have two children together.
The couple are both successful comedians. Richardson is best known for his appearances on panel shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock the Week. Beaumont has her own comedy show on BBC Radio 4 called Lucy Beaumont's Wheel of Misfortune.
The news of their divorce has come as a surprise to many. The couple have always seemed very happy together.
In their statement, Richardson and Beaumont said that they will continue to work together on their parenting arrangements.
"We are both committed to co-parenting our children and we will always be there for each other," the statement said.
